Sizzling hot sisters … that is what I had turned into. Waking up in the middle of the night with a thermostat set at a daunting 67 degrees and a husband literally with ice cubes in his beard. Something had to be done about it, and done quick!
I did some investigating and after all the years of working with mothers who had breast cancer, it became clear that synthetic hormones were not a safe choice. I know….my dad prescribed them, my own OB prescribed them. But that little inner voice was saying “bad idea, bad idea!”
Making matters worse, I would feel myself almost like a curtain dropping get hot. This would happen at the most inopportune time like when I became flustered looking in my bag for my debit card or most aggravatingly while I was sitting with a heater on me while coaxing a naked newborn into one of my poses.
“ T H I S ” went on for a few months without warning, and it slowly drove me crazy. Nights were spent covered in sweat, and then freezing, and having slept in the basement as a child, I have learned to sleep with tons of covers; this bedtime ritual still lingers to this day. So, you can just imagine the stress this placed on sweet and mostly easy going Brian!
I went to Whole Foods. I looked around for something … anything really that might alleviate the symptoms. Not so much luck. And, I tried several tonics and homeopathic remedies, let me tell you! My friend Shelena “fixed” me! She has the Dr. Shel Wellness and Medical Spa, and I have been taking care of her for years. I walked in there and a few tests and tweaks later, she had literally taken me out of burning up all night long back into sleep! Bio-Identical hormones is what she does, and there’s MAGIC in the potion. Two, three maybe four squirts and voila! You will be sent back to the land of who you once were! And sisters, I was past ready to go!
The Dream Team Birthday bash was so much fun, and I want to thank each of you for attending! As promised this year, I am offering all of my readers multiple opportunities to join me in becoming a better you in 2012! I am hosting two workshops this month. First, on April 17th, “Living the Sweet Life: Part ONE Finding the TRUE YOU” will be held at my home studio from 10 am to 4 pm. Snacks and lunch will be provided and the cost is $200.
The second lecture series is entitled “Wellness from the Inside Out” on April 25th from 11 am to 1 pm. Dr. Shel will be the guest speaker for our first event held at the studio in Montrose (1210 West Clay, Suite 12). She will be discussing HCG, Hormones and Cool Sculpting. All attendees will receive specials and when you mention Sweet Life, my readers receive special discounts towards these and other services. This event is free. Cool huh? Speaking of “cool,” Shel and I will be cranking up her cool sculpting machine here shortly …. I want Kelly Rippa arms. I am hoping the shrinking will have the desired effect!
